Upcoming McKinley ASSP Chapter Meeting – October 5 Exploring Safety Challenges in the Scrap Recycling Industry

The McKinley ASSP Chapter is pleased to announce our upcoming October meeting, featuring an in‑depth discussion with Dennis Stropko and Eric Schnackel of Reserve Management Group. This session will take a closer look at one of the most demanding and fast‑moving sectors in occupational safety: the scrap recycling industry.

Scrap processing and recycling environments present a unique blend of hazards — from heavy equipment and high‑activity sorting areas to unpredictable material flow and complex environmental conditions. Dennis and Eric will share their firsthand insight into these challenges and walk attendees through their practical approach to building safe systems of work, strengthening worker awareness, and maintaining safety performance in an ever‑changing operational setting.

Whether you work directly in manufacturing, industrial operations, consulting, or are simply interested in expanding your safety knowledge, this presentation will offer valuable perspectives on applying strong safety management principles in dynamic environments.
