ASSP McKinley Gives Back: Volunteering at Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank October 25

Please join us as we help others in our community by serving at the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank on October 25 from 8:30 am -11 am at the Akron facility.

The Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank was formed in 1982 by a group of community leaders who made a commitment to provide emergency food to neighbors in need. Today, the Foodbank provides food and other essential items to hunger-relief partners within its network, serving eight Northeast Ohio counties: Carroll, Holmes, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Tuscarawas and Wayne.

If this is your first time volunteering, or it’s been more than three years since you’ve volunteered with us, please complete an Adult or Youth volunteer application/wavier (ages 10-15 with adult supervision).

 Location:
The Akron Campus is located at 350 Opportunity Parkway, Akron, near Downtown Akron. Please park in the Dart Avenue lot and enter via the front doors on Opportunity Parkway.

What to wear:

Comfortable shoes – please note that open-toed shoes are not permitted in the warehouse

Layers, as the warehouse temperature fluctuates with the weather

No jewelry (wedding rings are an exception)

Safety guidelines:

Cell phone use is not permitted in the warehouse and pantry areas

No backpacks, fanny packs, or purses are allowed (items for medical needs are permitted)

Clear water bottles only

No headphones or earbuds
